I was driving my son home from school the other day and I was overcome with emotion looking at the young man sitting before me. I looked over at him and could not believe that the little boy who used to hold my hand and rock with excitement as he saw our garage door open and close was suddenly so grown up and mature. I said to him with tear-filled eyes that I hope I had been a good mother to him - a perfect mother. He smiled, leaned over and put his head on my shoulder. Then he said to me, "Mom you've always been a perfect mother, even before you had me, you just did it in a different way." I was speechless. My son teaches me every day that I am not the one helping him navigate his spiritual journey, rather he is the one that is helping me. Thank you my son for being my teacher. I love you.
